About Robert H. McCrary

Robert H. McCrary is the principal in the Estate Planning law firm of McCrary Law Offices which has offices in Casper, Cheyenne, and Fort Collins. Mr. McCrary has been practicing in the field of estate planning for over thirty-six years, and is a third generation estate planner. His father was long-time Estate Attorney, Everett McCrary and his grandfather was R.H. Nichols, of Nichols & Stirrett, of Casper. His son, Jason Howard, is also an estate planning attorney, thus adding a fourth generation estate planner in the family.

Prior to forming his own firm, he was a partner in the firm Schwartz, Bon, McCrary & Walker and he specialized in estate law and education law. He earned his B.A. with Distinction in Political Science from the University of Colorado, is a Phi Beta Kappa, and has his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wyoming, College of Law, where he served on the Law Review Staff.

He is a person who deeply cares about his clients and wants to make sure their personal estate planning goals are reached. He has a rather informal style and makes estate planning simple and easy to understand. He likes what he does. He travels throughout Wyoming and Colorado providing estate planning services emphasizing in customized trusts, advanced health care plans and business plans.

McCrary Law Offices are now the exclusive Northern Colorado and Wyoming representative of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. Mr. McCrary is also a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, Supreme Court of Wyoming, Supreme Court of Colorado, United States Court of Military Appeals, and the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.

Dedicated to his communities, Robert McCrary has served on a Community College Board of Trustees, a College Foundation Board, a BOCES Board, the UW/CC Advisory Board, and as a County School District School Board Attorney. He has frequently served as a guest columnist on estate planning and related topics in such publications as the Casper Star Tribune and Colorado's The Voice. Mr. McCrary presents free community seminars and consultations on estate planning, and has developed hundreds of estate plans including: Revocable Living Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships, Life Insurance Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Asset Protection Plans, and Business Succession Plans and prepares planning documents for Elder Law clients.

Mr. McCrary has also had a distinguished military career and remains devoted to his country. He earned two Bronze Stars for his service during the Vietnam War, is admitted to the bar of the United States Court of Military Appeals, and served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, in the U.S. Army. Mr. McCrary was honored with the Wyoming National Guard Certificate of Appreciation for providing free estate planning services to National Guard Members during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Robert practices in all Northern Colorado and Wyoming communities. Robert and his wife Judy, who has her Paralegal Degree, enjoy hunting, fishing, baseball, and their grandchildren.
